First Snow!!!

We had our first big snow of the year. Of course we had to get Em dressed up and take her out. Her snow suit is actually the outfit her daddy came home from the hospital in!!

Trip to DC in Oct

We took our first road trip when Emleyn was 5 weeks old to DC to see our friends Clay and Sarah. It was both mine and Emlyen's first time to the capital city. I think I found it a bit more exciting then her as she slept through most of the trip.
Over all it was a very successful first outing for the new parents...of course after we made a pit stop at Target to buy a carrier for her as we forgot both the stroller and carrier!

A man and his power tools.....

The front is 99% complete (window flower boxes will be next). Below is the before and after picture. It was all Wes's vision, a little sketch of a pitched roof he drew on the top of the trend mls listing that set things in motion.

Nursery Pictures

Here is the progression of the nursery. All we need is for baby to arrive to make it complete! We starting by having a contractor fix the ceiling, walls and added a closet. Then after looking at 8 different paint colors we finally picked a pretty green that Grandma Mary painted for us as. Everyone pitched in (even me a little) to help put together the furniture. The result is a beautiful and warm nursery!

My new fuzzy friends

Thanks to the Cousins (Myles, Dylan and Tyler), Baby Costello will have three fuzzy friends to look forward to on his/her arrival date. Ok, maybe Momma is more excited to get these little guys. I've been drooling over them for months now and was so excited when Wes opened the gift last night. We were also very excited (again, maybe mostly me) to get the Baby's first scrapbook!

Twins...and I don't mean how many babies are in my belly

Great "Pregnant" minds think alike! I went into the office this week to catch up with my girlfriends (I know you thought I would say to actually do work). My friend Gwynne who is actually pregnant with twins (due this December) and I were dressed identical! And who says pregnant women can't be stylish:) It was too funny not to take a picture. Stay tuned to find out what matching outfit we plan next!

Week 29 spent with my girlfriends in KC

Since Wes takes a guy trip every year with his Fraternity friends I decided this year that I would take advantage before the baby arrives to get one good girl weekend in with my best buds from KC. Espcially since I could tack it onto a business trip to Atlanta to help save money on the flight! It was just in time too as the Dr ordered no more flights for the rest of my maternity:(

The weather was so hot, but we had a wonderful time. The girls totally suprised me with a baby shower on the plaza. Thanks to Amy for being the driver and decoy, Chris and Jen for the cake, decorations and coordination and Molly and Nikki for spending the afternoon celebrating with us. It was so great to see everyone, hear mom and baby advice and just to catch up. Here is a pic from the weekend, however I hope to get more from the weekend and post later.

New Belly Pics at 26 and 27 weeks

Black is definitely more slimming as the first picture taken at Tyler's Graduation was a week before the one taken of me in the black tank top at the Bike Race. Baby Costello continues to grow and show his/her presence. I got a wonderful elbow jab this morning. The kicks/movements are getting higher up towards my ribs which is entertaining as I'm very ticklish there.

19 Week Sonogram Pics

The little 'guy' was kicking and moving around so much when the nurse was trying to take snapshots of his feet and legs that she was really having difficulty. I thougth it was so cute of course until I realized that in a few weeks I'll be FEELING those karate kicks! And of course when she was finally done with the legs and arms and moved up to get the profile shot, he had tuckered himself out and promptly curled up, started sucking his hand and rolled over for a nap. So we don't have a profile shot. Good news is I get to go back in a few weeks for another visit now:)

Almost Done

Finally the oustide of the house is almost done!! The stucco, gutters and new roof/addition are all complete on the outside. We just have to decide on shutter colors. And thanks for our lovely assistants....Audra and Andrew we can easily decide between black or maroon. We are leaning towards maroon but aren't 100% sold on the specific color Lowes has to offer.

18 weeks and growing

Wes took this picture of me last week at 18 weeks. So I have come to realize that while maternity clothes are way more comfortable, they make you look way more pregnant. However I am starting to really get a belly! Folks are just now coming up to me and ask me questions about when I'm due, ect.

We just had our 19 week ultrasound and no....we aren't finding out what the sex is, but the baby is developing beautifully, approx 9oz. I'll post the ultrasound pics later.

He (cause my maternal instincts think it's a boy) was so busy kicking and turning while the Tech was trying to capture pics of the legs and feet that he tuckered himself out and promptly went to sleep sucking his hand with his back turned so she couldn't get a profile shot of his face. So we are heading back to see him in four weeks to try again. The nurse said bring jolly ranchers just in case he doesn't cooperate. Wes and I aren't sure what that means exactly but it made us reminisce about our favorite flavors. Apple for me and watermelon or grape for him.

14 Week Belly Shot

We took this picutre last weekend before heading out to dinner. I'm in that awful stage of my current clothes don't really fit but I'm still too small to really fit into maternity clothes. So after digging through my closet I found this outfit. Who would have guessed that the skirt I bought 4 years ago would double as a great pregnancy skirt? The waist band is very similar to what maternity clothes look like. I would be second guessing myself about when I bought it, but I know H&M doesn't have a maternity section.

One heartbeat...whew!

After a week of taunting from mom and Wes about the signs of us having twins, we had our first ultrasound on Friday Feb 27th. From the length/size of the baby they updated our due date to Sept 13th or 15th. The first pic you can obvsiously tell it's a baby. The second pic is at an odd angle. It's looking straight on the baby's face and he/she is waving at us....or so we are told:)

A picture speaks a thousand words....or if you are my Mother-In-Law, a thousands squeals of joy! We started our 2009 out with fantastic news that we would be expecting our first baby in September! (Daddy hopes the baby already knows the Eagles schedule and won't be born on a game day).

We were finally able to get our parents together last night and told them so now we can spread the news to the rest of our family and friends! And just in case you are curious, yes we are planning on torturing everyone and not finding out the sex until Delivery Day:)

Punxsutawney Phil

So I've always thought Groundhog Day was an odd 'holiday'. I hated the movie, actually walked out mid-way through. But given the sub- temperature weather we've received this past week I'm all for hearing if the furball sees his shadow. Plus the fact that he resides in our state, this year I've decided to embrace the holiday. For more info and fun facts I've included a link to the official site: http://www.groundhog.org/

For those that live in PA, I do love Gus the 'second most famous groundhog' who does the lottery ticket commercials for the state. Those commericals are always pretty cute.
