Delivery Day

Our PODS finally arrived! No more airmattress. Thanks to Mr and Mrs C and Blitz (their new Golden) we have one room almost put together and can finally sit on a couch to watch TV. It's great! Also inlcuded some pics of our first home project. Ripping up the carpet. I am so glad we did, the hardwoods turned out wonderful!

Does it count?

We are only in the 2nd week (note 1 week was in NE) of our home renovations today. We found out that our revised deck order wasn't ordered so we will probably have 3/4of a deck for 2 more weeks. There is a 15 day delay on getting or 'PODS' aka 'Beds/Funiture/Home' delivered. So the air mattress, paper plate routine will continue. They think that I should have remembered signing a piece of paper that says "15 days delivery notice" on the day I'm packing and moving my entire home counts as a binding contract that Oh by the way, I can request a copy because they don't leave one, is OK! I'll be calling their supervisor tomorrow.

So until then we have our routine...fill the airmatress no later than 10:30 PM and pray you are the first one up in the morning as the other one hits the floor the minute you get up as it's deflated overnight.

Comcast still hasn't figured out why I can call you, but you can't call me.

And because we ripped out the vanitey to redo hardwood floors in the one bathroom with the only working shower you now have to go to the one that smells like pee to wash your hands. I aksed Wes this afternnon if it counted as washing your hands when you stick them in the back of the toliet to fix the broken flapper:)

The good news is, we are still in high spirits. We can still see the end of the road. I'll let ya know next week how we are handling things. We actually have weekend guest! April must be a dear dear friend to put up with our camping conditions.

Bike Race '08

US Pro Cycling Championship comes through our 'old' neighborhood every year. Our friends have a place on the infamous Wall. The racers loop through the city multiple times amounting to approx 2oo miles. When they come to Manayunk they make a sharp right hand turn and head up a hill that's incline is so steep you get tired just walking up it. Lance Armstrong used to do participate in this cycling series before he would do the Tour de France to get him in shape. This year was the hottest ever with the heat index over 100 degrees!
